Up and running in three steps
No webhooks to paste and no code. The organization owner connects once; every property can post to its own channel.
- 1
Connect your workspace
The organization owner clicks Add to Slack and approves the app with Slack OAuth.
- 2
Route each property to a channel
Pick a channel per property. In public channels the bot joins automatically; for a private channel, type /invite @SEOcrawl AI there first.
- 3
Get alerts when Code Monitor confirms a change
Code Monitor checks your pages every 12 hours. When a change is confirmed, the alert lands in the channel with before and after values.
What it watches
The SEO elements that move rankings, on by default. Switch on the extra ones per property when you want more coverage.
On by default
- Status code
- Title
- Meta description
- H1
- Canonical
- Noindex
Off by default, switch on any time
- robots.txt
- sitemap.xml
- Headings
- hreflang
- Open Graph image
- Twitter image
- Google Analytics
- Google Tag Manager
Severity you can filter
Every alert carries a severity. Choose the minimum that reaches Slack:
Critical
- Status code leaves 2xx (200 → 404)
- A 3xx or 5xx becomes a 4xx
- Noindex appears
- Canonical changes
Warning
- Title, meta description or H1 changes
- robots.txt or hreflang changes
- Noindex is removed
- Status code returns to 2xx
Info
- Other headings change
- sitemap.xml changes
- Open Graph or Twitter image changes
- Google Analytics or Tag Manager changes
Signal, not noise
Alerts are built to be read, not muted channel-wide.
One message per changed page
Each alert covers one page, with every element that changed on it. Easy to discuss in a thread.
Busy runs become one summary
When more than 5 pages change in the same check, you get one summary with the top 5 and a View all link instead of a flood.
Mute a page in one click
Mute this page opens a confirmation page in SEOcrawl AI (organization owner only). Unmute it any time from the Slack integration settings in SEOcrawl AI.

Security and permissions
The app only posts. It asks for the minimum Slack permissions and never reads your conversations.
Bot scopes requested
chat:writePost alerts to the channels you route.
channels:readList public channels so you can pick one.
channels:joinJoin a public channel on its own when you route a property there.
groups:readList the private channels the bot was invited to.
Cannot read messages
No history, no message or file scopes. The bot sees channel names, not what people write.
Token encrypted at rest
The Slack bot token is stored encrypted and only used to post your alerts.
Disconnect cleans up
Disconnecting revokes the token in Slack and deletes every channel routing for your organization.
Connect from app.seocrawl.ai
The workspace is connected from app.seocrawl.ai only, not from white-label domains. Slack messages are sent in English.
Slack app FAQ
How much does the Slack app cost?
There is no separate Slack add-on to buy. The alerts come from Code Monitor, which runs on the Monitor credits included in your SEOcrawl AI plan. See pricing for what each plan includes.
Can alerts go to a private channel?
Yes. Invite the bot to the private channel first by typing /invite @SEOcrawl AI in it, then pick that channel for the property in SEOcrawl AI. Public channels need no invite: the bot joins on its own.
Can I send different properties to different channels?
Yes. Routing is per property, so each site or client can post to its own channel, and several properties can share one channel.
How often does Code Monitor check my pages?
Every 12 hours. An alert is posted only when Code Monitor confirms a change on the page.
Who can connect or change the Slack integration?
The organization owner, from Organization › Integrations on app.seocrawl.ai. The owner is also the only one who can confirm Mute this page.
How do I stop the alerts?
Raise the minimum severity, switch elements off, mute a single page, or remove a property's channel. To stop everything, disconnect Slack: the token is revoked and all routing is deleted.
What data does SEOcrawl AI share with Slack?
Only the alert itself: the page URL, the element that changed, its before and after values, the severity and the detection time. The app cannot read your Slack messages.
Is this the same as the Crawler?
No. The Crawler audits your whole site on demand. Code Monitor watches the key pages you choose every 12 hours and is what feeds these Slack alerts.
